Obituary for Lois Evans (Ledger)

Lois  Evans (Ledger)
Lois Evans, 86, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Lambertville, Lois was a lifelong city resident. She was a registered nurse and worked for Dr. Kenneth Leiby and Dr. James Schoenthal in their New Hope offices. She also was the City of Lambertville’s public health nurse. She earned her RN at the Newark School of Nursing. Lois was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and was active with the Lambertville Senior Citizens where she served as secretary. Lois was a dedicated wife and mother. A wonderful cook, Lois loved nothing better than preparing a splendid Thanksgiving for her family.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Ernie Evans, her son Gregory S. Evans and his wife Carole, her parents James Russell Ledger and Lillian Carmody Ledger, her brother J. Russell Ledger, Jr., and her son-in-law David Bowker. She is survived by her loving daughters and their families Tara M. Castner and her husband John of Bloomsbury, NJ, Lillian Laney of Lambertville, Linda L. Bowker of Brigantine, NJ, Brenda Cseremsak and her husband Michael of Titusville, NJ; her former son-in-law Stephen Laney of Skillman, NJ; her grandchildren William J. Evans, Jeffrey Castner and his wife Erin of Bloomsbury, Nora Castner of Bloomsbury, Matthew Laney, Alex Laney, Kelly Bowker and Jacob Cseremsak; her great-grandsons James and Alexander Evans and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, October 29, at 10 am at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, PA 18938. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Lambertville, NJ.
Calling hours will be held at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 pm and on Wednesday morning from 8:30 am until departure for church.
