Clyde Joseph Davis, Jr., 60, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Raritan Township, Clyde was a lifelong resident of Lambertville. He attended South Hunterdon Regional High School. Clyde worked at Heath’s Service Center and also at Peter Heath’s auto parts store. He served with the US Navy and during his service was stationed in Tennessee, Florida, Puerto Rico and Iceland. Clyde was a known to all in Lambertville and New Hope and was a familiar figure riding through town on his bicycle.
He was the son of the late Clyde J. Davis, Sr. and Bridget Ann Iatesta Davis. He is survived by his beloved wife Violeta Jara Davis; his son and daughter-in-law Christopher J. and Kimberly Davis, all of Lambertville; his sisters Janet Davis of Lambertville, Laura Vuono of Bath, PA and Denise Williams of Allentown, PA; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 28, at 1 pm at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Committal services will military honors will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
