Obituary for Robert Daniel Jackson

Robert D. Jackson, 93, of West Amwell, NJ, died on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born and raised in Vincennes, Indiana, Mr. Jackson and his family moved to West Palm, Florida when he was a teenager. He earned a BS in chemistry and biology from Florida Southern University. He specialized in chemical patents for FMC Corporation in Plainsboro, NJ, and retired in 1984 after 18 years of service. Earlier he worked as a research chemist for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY and in Tennessee. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Jackson served stateside with the US Army. A past member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Mr. Jackson was a proud descendant of Pierre Grimard, a Vincennes patriot.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Amy Eck Jackson; their son and daughter-in-law Carl Daniel and Cheryl Jackson and granddaughter Olivia of Readington Township, NJ; his daughters and sons-in-law Martha Ann and John S. Knight of West Palm Beach and Mareese and James Guelig and their daughters Holly and Caroline of Fredericksburg, VA; his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Daniel Kennedy of Titusville, FL.

Committal services with military honors will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 1:30 pm the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
