Earl J. Sneddon, 85, of West Amwell, NJ, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at his home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Earl was a West Amwell resident for over 60 years. He was a licensed realtor with Weidel Realty since 1963 and rose to the title of vice-president with the company. Under Earl’s supervision, the Weidel company established the Princeton Mortgage Company. Earlier Earl was a milkman, delivering for the Oakland and Buxton Dairies. He was a member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rotary, the Trenton-Mercer Businessmen’s Association, the Flemington Elks and the Trenton Ski Club. A longtime member of the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church, Earl served as a church deacon. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, tennis, skiing and horses. Earl was dedicated to his family and was proud of the life that he and his late wife, Shirley, built together.

Earl was the youngest of 11 children born to Raymond and Elizabeth Mackey Sneddon. He was the devoted husband for 65 years to the late Shirley VanNess Sneddon. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law John and Jackie Sneddon of West Amwell, his daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Richard Stoneking of Delaware Township, and Colleen and James Rossetti of Flemington; his grandchildren and their spouses Aaron and Eileen Sneddon of West Amwell, Tuesdee and Bob Fleming of West Amwell, Abigail Rossetti of Charlottesville, VA, Brandon and Molly Stoneking of Delaware Township, Elizabeth and Greg Baker of Califon and Whitney Stoneking of Delaware Township; his great-grandchildren Emma and Kira Sneddon and Tia, Mayce and Kadie Fleming, all of West Amwell and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Baker of Califon; his sister Sara McClaskey of Boca Raton, FL; his special nephew and his wife William and Sharon Whatton of New Port Richey, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 2 pm at the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church, 39 Mt. Airy Village Road, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be calling hours at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until the start of services.
