Obituary for Theodore Paul "Ted" Cunnius

Theodore Paul "Ted"  Cunnius
Theodore P. Cunnius, 67, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Whitehouse Station, NJ, Ted lived in Lambertville for 47 years. He was a mechanic with Budman’s Frame in Trenton and with Heath’s Service Station in Lambertville retiring 15 years ago. He was a proud decorated veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the US Marines. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and the Purple Heart for his bravery under fire. Ted was a member of the VFW Post 7921 in Lambertville. He attended the Old Rocks Church in West Amwell. Ted enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.

Ted was the son of the late Theodore E. and Rose Marie Smith Cunnius. He is survived by his children and their spouses Colleen P. Fagan and her husband Michael of Levittown, PA, Kimberly Hewitt and her husband Dale of Phillipsburg, NJ, Pamela Cunnius of Bristol, PA and Chad Cunnius and his wife Colleen of Philadelphia, PA; his partner Joyce Sepesi of Lambertville; his wife Paula C. Bowlby Cunnius of Morrisville, PA; his grandchildren Dustin, Kaitlyn, Madison, Gunnar, Chad, Casey and Zevan; his great-granddaughter Ava; his nieces Jennifer Hosbach and his nephews Brandon Hosbach and Phillip Butcusky.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 9 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com). Interment with military honors will follow at 11 am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Calling hours at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm. VFW services will be held Monday evening at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
