Obituary for Ruth Louise "Louise" Strang (Ewan)

R. Louise Strang, 91, of Ewing, NJ, died on Thursday January 21, 2016, at Capital Health’s Hopewell Campus.

Born in Millville, New Jersey, Louise was christened Ruth Louise Ewan. She was the devoted wife of the late Rev. Roland G. Strang. Dedicated to her family and her husband’s church ministry, Louise worked closely with their church families in Methodist congregations throughout New Jersey including Millville, Camden, National Park, Island Heights, Neptune City, Titusville, and Lambertville. She served on committees, taught Sunday school and always raised her voice in the choir. Louise was also active with the Island Heights and the Neptune City Rescue Squads.

Louise was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, the Rev. Roland G. Strang; her great-granddaughter Amber Diziki ; her brother Irvin Ewan; her sister Hannah Roe; and her parents George and Mary H. Beakley Ewan. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Mary Louise Martineau of Sellersville, PA and Kathleen M. and Donald L. Ertel of Ewing, NJ; her grandchildren and their spouses Amy and Chris Diziki of Dillsburg, PA, John Martineau, James Martineau, both of Sellersville, Todd and Amy Ertel of Howell, NJ, Steven and Marieke Ertel of Clifton, VA; her great-grandchildren Ian, Hannah, Raina Diziki, Morgan and Aidan Martineau, Eleni, Maya, Kasen, Reese, Haley and Claire Ertel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com). Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville, New Jersey.

Calling hours are at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm and on Tuesday morning from 9 am until the start of services.
