Melvin Eugene Lee, 66, of Lambertville, New Jersey, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

Born in Reidsville, Georgia, Melvin came to Lambertville at the age of 4. He was a laborer with Local 472, based in Newark, NJ. He retired in 2002 after 33 years of service. Melvin was an active member and a deacon at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Lambertville. An avid car enthusiast, Melvin belonged to the Mild to Wild Auto Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and shooting pool. He was devoted to his family and was a good friend to many.

Melvin was the son of the late Eunice James Lee and Minnie Johnson Lee and the brother of the late Alberta Wheeler and James Lee, Jr.. He is survived by his wife Ananias M. Cosme Lee; his sons and their wives Alexander Michael Lee and his wife Kimberly Lee of Freemansburg, PA and Jesus Eugenio Lee and his wife Teri Lynn Lee of Upper Marlboro. MD; his grandchildren Michaela and Kodiey; his sisters Dorothy Lee of Stamford, CT, Wanda Gorrell of Gilbertsville, PA and Eunice Diane Houghton of Milton, DE and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 11 am at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 108 N. Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey. Friends may call at the church from 10 am until the start of services.

Donations in Melvin’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central NJ, 2600 Highway 1, North Brunswick, New Jersey 08902.
