William R. Blackwell, Jr., 58, of Trenton (Ewing Township), NJ, died on October 23, 2016.

Born in Raritan Township and raised in Delaware Township, Bill had been a resident of Trenton for 26 years. He was a grinder with the Atlantic Spring Company in Flemington for over 30 years. He had also worked for Bemis Company in Flemington. A graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, Bill enjoyed bowling and often gathered with family and friends at the West Hunterdon Lanes in Frenchtown. He led an active life and loved the outdoors, stock car racing, riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and camping. Bill was a good friend and was dedicated to his family. With his late wife, Linda, he took great care of Linda’s sister, Robin, during her last illness. He lovingly took care of Linda as well at the end of her life. He was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle and was quick to help anyone in need.

Bill was the husband of the late Linda Marie Stout Blackwell, the son of the late William R. Blackwell, Sr. and the brother-in-law of the late Robin Cwiek and John Stout. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law John R. and Casey Blackwell of Frenchtown, NJ; his step-daughter and her husband Daphne and Lee Norwood of Washigton, DC; his granddaughter Courtney Conklin of Hamilton; his mother Frances Slack Blackwell of Trenton; his sister Linda Guy of Trenton; his nephew Richard Guy of Parlin; his niece Jessica Guy of Colorado; his sisters-in-law and their husbands Rena and Dana Wood of Lambertville, Myrtle “Tootie” and Dennis Wersinger of Starbuck, Minnesota and Melody and James Brown of Hagerstown, MD and Dawn Stout of Phillipsburg; his best friend Linda Hoppock of Lambertville and his many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday evening, November 5, at 7 pm at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com).

There will be calling hours on Saturday evening, November 5, at the funeral home from 5 pm until the start of services.

Family and friends are also invited to gather on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 9 am until 12 noon at the West Hunterdon Lanes, 1089 Sate Route 12, Frenchtown, NJ 08825.
