Barbara Rita Strouse, age 91, of Lambertville, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017.

Born in the Ipswich, Massachusetts, Barbara had been a Lambertville resident since 1953. She had served as Lambertville City Clerk, as well as Tax Collector.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Garwood Strouse and her parents, Edward and Georgia LaMothe. She was survived by her son, Gary (Barbara) Stouse of Frenchtown, NJ and her daughter, Jane (Lawrence) Ries of Ottsville, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Janice, Julia, Alyssa, Tara and Gina, as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Simon, Sydney, Cecilia and Avery.

Services are private. Arrangements have been made through the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ.
