Cheryl Lee Keahey, 70, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.
Cheryl was born and remained a lifelong resident of Lambertville. She graduated from South Hunterdon. Cheryl retired from Atlantic Springs in Ringoes. She also worked at other local businesses including the Lambertville Acme. Cheryl was a member and parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family immensely everyday of her life. She loved baking, books and bingo. Her infectious laugh defined her and drew people to her. You always knew when she was near you. She fought cancer for over 20 years and never complained about it. Cheryl had a positive attitude, far better than most of us. Her favorite place was at the Northrops’ pool house, watching the Phillies, throwing back a cool one.
Cheryl was the wife of the late Edward R. Keahey, the daughter of the late Violet “Vi” Van Horn and Albert J. Allen and the sister of the late Joan Schneider and Bruce Allen. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tracey and Tim Northrop of Pipersville, PA; her son Timothy C. Strouse of Lambertville, her grandchildren Madison and Sam Northrop of Pipersville; her sisters and their husbands Marlene and Tony Lynch of Lambertville and Jacklyn and John Sneddon of Stockton; her brother-in-law Alfred “Chip” Schneider of Lambertville; her sister-in-law Barbara Allen of Lewes, DE ; and her many nephews and nieces.
The funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, March 23, at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Interment will follow at Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.
Calling hours at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com) on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday morning from 9 am until departure for church.
