Obituary for Janet C Lewis (Case)
Janet Case Lewis, 85, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Pohatcong, New Jersey, Janet grew up in Lambertville. As a young woman she worked at the DelVue Cleaners in Lambertville. Later, as a resident of Los Angeles, CA, Janet worked for the US Postal Service. She also lived in Frederick, Maryland, before returning to Lambertville. Janet enjoyed travel and seeing new places. She was gifted at needle craft, knitting and crocheting. A woman of faith, she was a past member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Lambertville. She was an animal lover. Above all Janet enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
She was the daughter of the late Gary Ernest Case and Winifred Mason Case, the sister of the late Mabel Daniels Hall, Richard E. Case, Laura Case Callender and Cubit J. “Red” Case, Sr., and the aunt of the late Vanessa Case and Rowena Case. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Brenda Reasoner, Winifred Daniels, Marlene Adley, Deborah Van Excel, Keith Case, Kim Gibson, Daryl Case, Cynthia McCoy and Cubit Case, Jr. and their families.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 12 noon at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com). Interment will follow at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.
Calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 am until the start of services.
