Obituary for Robert Parker MacIntosh

Robert Parker MacIntosh, 94, of Huntingdon Valley, PA died Monday, February 12, 2018 surrounded by family. “Bob” or “Mac” as he was called was the former owner of MAC Motors in Willow Grove, PA for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1981. Bob was born September 20, 1923 to the late William MacIntosh and the late Myrtle Parker MacIntosh. He received his Bachelor degree from Temple University on the GI Bill. Bob served in the US Army during WWII where he was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. In business, he was known for his honesty and high level of customer service. Bob could be counted on for a favor, a good joke or just to ‘check-in’ to see how you were doing. He enjoyed socializing with friends. And, if there was a dance floor, you would find him there, especially if Big Band music was playing.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, the late June Dolores Resinger (1979) and his son, Robert Parker MacIntosh, Jr. (2016). He is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Johnston and her husband Ian of New Hope, PA and Nancy M. Young and her husband Donald of Southampton, PA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric M. Johnston and Melissa N. Young.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:30pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery, in Newtown, PA. Arrangements made through Van Horn - McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville, NJ.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made in memory of Robert P. MacIntosh, to: MDA, 600 Reed Road, #104, Broomall, PA 19008. A memorial account has been set-up to have funds earmarked for the local MDA Camp, in Worcester, PA where his granddaughter attended.
