Obituary for Stanley Eick Jr.
Stanley Eick, Jr., 69, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Lambertville, Stanley was a lifelong resident. An independent carpenter and contractor, he owned and operated Stanley’s Service, Co. for 40 years before retiring 5 years ago. He attended South Hunterdon High School. Stanley was a man of many interests. He loved fishing and boating and was a member of the Tampa Bay Boat Club in Treasure Island, FL. He read poetry and studied history. A gifted musician, he often wrote songs for family members and, as a young man, played guitar with a band of his friends called “The Noblemen”. He was a skilled craftsman and woodworker and enjoyed surprising his grandsons with his handcrafted toys. He loved tinkering and could often be found working on his 1989 Corvette. With his beloved wife of 45 years, Bonnie, Stanley enjoyed wintering in Florida, visiting the Jersey shore, attending concerts and an occasional trip to the Borgata.
Stanley was devoted to his family. He was the father of the late Christopher S. Eick and the late Victoria Goldwasser, the son of the late Stanley and Angelina Vacca Eick and the brother of the late George Eick. He is survived by his wife Bonnie J. Brown Eick; his daughter Amanda J. Eick of Lambertville; his grandchildren Nathan and Oliver Goldwasser of Cherry Hill; his son-in-law Ben Goldwasser of Cherry Hill; his sisters Phyllis Kerr of New Hope, PA, Angelina Barbaria of Basking Ridge, NJ and Maude Klein of State College, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com).
Interment will follow at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.
Calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 am until the start of services.
