Obituary for Nicholas John Charry

Nicholas J. Charry, 72, of New Hope, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.

Born in New Jersey, Nick lived in New Hope his entire life. He was a master level technician working for over 20 years at Holbert’s Porsche Audi in Warrington. He continued lending his talents out to Joseph Bullock and Sons in Warrington for many years, and finally at Histand’s in Doylestown, PA. . Nick had a great talent for scavenging forgotten treasures. Once he rebuilt a trash picked bike for a special needs boy who couldn’t afford one. Playing guitars and drums, reading and riding his bicycle were just a few activities he enjoyed in his busy retirement.

Nick was preparing to participate and was passionate about the annual Anchor House Ride for Runaways, a 500 hundred mile bike tour and fundraiser for runaway youth in the Trenton area. He was a graduate of New Hope-Solebury High School and served with the US Air Force. He was a devoted family man and a friend to all.

Nick was the son of the late John and Jane Eaton Charry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Diane; his children and their spouses Megan and Brian Courtney of Bethlehem, PA and Nathan J. and Melissa Charry of Newtown, PA; his grandchildren Kevin and Kyle Courtney and Ava Charry; his sisters Alida Elliott of Colorado and Marcia Brewster of Fairfield, VT and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday afternoon, June 20,2015, from 2:30 to 4 pm at the Raymond Family Farm, 6370 Pidcock Creek Road, New Hope, PA 18938.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Anchor House Ride for Runaways, (anchorhouseride.org) PO Box 2357, Trenton, NJ 08607-2357.
