Roy B. Ewing, Jr., 92, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, May 16, 2016.

Born in Lambertville, Roy was a lifelong city resident. He was an independent electrical contractor and handy man. He also worked as an electrician for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. Roy was often called “Mr. Lambertville.” He was an unofficial town historian and often shared stories and mementos from the city’s past. He was also a member of the Fleetwing Fire Company, the Lambertville Elks, the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad, the Lambertville Shade Tree Commission. Roy served on the committee that brought Christmas Lights to Lambertville’s business district.

He was the husband of the late Adelaide Korob Ewing, the son of the late Roy B., Sr. and Nellie Naylor Ewing and the father-in-law of the late Ralph Wooden. He is survived by his daughters and their families: Christine Hewitt-Wooden of Ewing, Cynthia (John) Knipe of Encinitas, CA, Carol (Peter) Read of Morrisville, PA and Cece DiSalvi of Lambertville; his grandchildren Daren (Jennifer) Hewitt, Joseph DiSalvi, Anthony DiSalvi and Tyler (Lindsey) Read; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 22, at 2 pm at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530.

Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1 pm until the start of services.

Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Lambertville Historical Society, PO Box 2, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
