Mary Sandra Kascik, 80, of West Amwell, NJ, died at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 28, 2106.

Known to all as Sandy, she was born in Philadelphia and lived in Ewing before coming to West Amwell in 1973. She was the assistant to the superintendent of West Amwell Public School from 1986 until her retirement in 2004. Prior to raising her family Sandy worked in the offices of the Federal Reserve in Philadelphia. She was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville where she assisted in counting collection. She was also a member of the Democratic Club of Hunterdon County. An animal lover, Sandy cared for a long line of cats, dogs, birds, fish and reptiles as well as any stray that happened to “follow” one of her kids home. Sandy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Bob, and was filled with pride in the life she and Bob shared and the family they had raised together.

Sandy was the wife of the late Robert C. Kascik, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Bradley Hall and the sister of the late Joan O’Neill. She is survived by her children Kitty Ann Bartzak and her husband Steve of West Amwell, Robert E. Kascik and his wife Elisa of Titusville, NJ and Christopher H. Kascik and his girlfriend Kelly Thompson of Lambertville; her granddaughters Kathleen and McKenna Bartzak of West Amwell; her brother Charles Hall and his wife Mary Lou of Fairless Hills, PA; her sister Kathleen “Shawn” Jacobs of Bensalem, PA; her many nieces and nephews; and her dog and cat, Bear and Sam.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 2, at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, New Jersey 08530. Interment will follow at Harbourton Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ.

Calling hours will be held at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com) on Thursday evening from 5 to 9 pm and on Friday morning from 8:30 am until departure for church.
