Charles M. Gundersheim, 81, of Lambertville, NJ, died peacefully ay his home on Friday, February 10, 2017.

Born in the Bronx, New York, Charles had been a Lambertville resident for 28 years. Earlier he had lived in Charlotte Hall, MD, Medford Lakes, NJ, Kansas City, MO and Wesley Hills, NY as he pursued his career as a successful sales director in the dairy industry. He retired from Star Kay White, Inc. in Congers, NY after 10 years of service. Earlier he had worked for Lehigh Valley Dairy in Allentown, PA and in the dairy division of Southland Corp in Waldorf, MD, Philadelphia and Kansas City. He was a devoted member and volunteer at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville and an active Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus - St. John the Evangelist Council. Charles was a Past Grand Knight and served on many council committees and was a member of the District’s Honorary Color Guard. He earned his BS degree in business at Manhattan College. Charles was a man of deep faith, devoted to his family, his church and community. He held strong convictions which he shared sometimes forcefully but, more often with gentle humor.

He was the father of the late Kathryn M., Carolyn and Nora A. Gundersheim; and the son of the late Carl and Mary Moore Gundersheim. He is survived by his beloved wife Judy Beach Gundersheim; his children William C. Cole and his wife Karen of Hollywood, PA; Theresa M. Weaver of Kansas City, MO and Thomas J. Cole of North Brunswick, NJ; his grandchildren John L. Madden, Hayden A. Weaver, Derrick T. Weaver and Allison R Cole.

The funeral mass will be offered on 10am Saturday February 18 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Holly, NJ.

Calling hours on 6-9pm Friday, at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home (vhmfh.com), 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ.
