Obituary for Pamela Anne "Pam" Morrison (Morrison)

Pamela Anne "Pam" Morrison (Morrison)
Pamela Anne Morrison, 64, of New Hope, PA, died at her home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pam earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Catawba College. She became the first female auditor for the North Carolina Department of Revenue and continued her professional career at Merrill Lynch, first in Charlotte and then New York City. Her charm and personality led to Pam being featured in the company’s television advertising campaign. After a number of years at Merrill Lynch, she moved into management at Equitable/AXA also in Manhattan. As a New Yorker Pam was a member of the Wall Street chapter of Rotary International, was active in the arts community and developed her talents as a studio artist.

Pam and her former husband, Peter Dankin, found a weekend getaway in Bucks County and later in Stockton, NJ. Pam quickly became involved in the local community. She made Stockton and, eventually, New Hope her home. She earned her real estate license and went to work at Calloway Real Estate. She became a certified life celebrant and officiated at the important occasions of some of her close friends. Pam became active in many local organizations, serving on their boards and various committees including the Bucks County Opera Association and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, the New Hope Historical Society, AMFAR and Broadway Cares of Bucks County, the Riverside Symphonia and the Phillips Mill Community Association. She was a dedicated volunteer and raised thousands of dollars for charity. Pam was an avid reader and belonged to the Mystery Club and the New Hope-Solebury Public Library.

Pam was a great friend to many. Her keen wit and positive energy were a source of strength for those around her. She was the first to show up for any friend with a problem. She was funny, opinionated and generous and treasured being surrounded by those she loved. You could not have a better friend than Pam.

She was the daughter of the late Daniel Baker Morrison and Anne Sapp Morrison. Pam is survived by her brothers Daniel Baker Morrison, Jr. and his wife Margaret Bryan Morrison of Charlotte, NC and Charles Sapp Morrison of Atlanta, Georgia; her nieces and nephews Daniel Baker Morrison, III and his wife Christine Harris Morrison, Margaret Anne Morrison Peebles and her husband Marion Wooten Peebles IV, Elizabeth Dargan Morrison and Edward Baker Morrison and an extended family of friends and associates. She especially doted on her pet Chihuahua “Short Sale.”

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11:30 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ (vhmfh.com).

Donations in Pam’s memory may be made to the organization that brought Pam and “Short Sale” together the Animal Alliance of New Jersey, PO Box 1285, Belle Mead, New Jersey 08502.
