Bernice L. Allshouse, 82, of Ringoes, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017, in the home she loved, surrounded by her cherished family.
Born in Lambertville, Bernice was a lifelong area resident. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening and dedicated herself to making a beautiful home for her family. Bernice was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville. She enjoyed trips to Cape May, taking cruises with her husband, Jack, and cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Bernice was patient and loving and had a gentle wit.
The daughter of the late Norman J. and Laura C. Conover Sherman, Bernice is survived by her husband of 61 years John L. Allshouse; her children and their spouses John N. and Liz Allshouse of Jamesburg, NJ, JoAnn and Daniel Serlenga of Ringoes and Jeffrey S. and Denise Allshouse of Lambertville; her grandchildren Kara Pachnieski and husband Adam of Dublin, PA, Joshua Serlenga of Ringoes and Samantha Williamson and her husband Bryan of Fairfax, VA.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 9, at 12 noon at the Saddle Ridge Event Space, 1530 Rt 179, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Rev. Peter Gregory, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville will officiate.
