Gertrude L. Handel, 92, formerly of Ridgefield, NJ, died on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Meadow Lakes Assisted Living Center in East Windsor, NJ.

Born in New York City, Gertrude was a resident of Ridgefield for over 40 years. She was a sales clerk in Palisades Park. Gertrude was an avid reader and animal lover. Gertrude felt that her family was her greatest treasure and she cherished the time they spent together.

Gertrude was the devoted wife of the late Harold J. Handel. She is survived by her son and his wife, Hal and Sheila Handel of New Hope, PA; and her grandson and his wife Matthew and Lindsay Handel of Philadelphia, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, New Jersey 08530 (vhmfh.com).

Funeral services will be private.
