Joan K. Keen, 78, of New Hope, PA, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Buckingham Valley Care Center.

Born in Doylestown, PA, Joan was a lifelong resident of the New Hope-Solebury area. She was a 1961 graduate of Rider College. As a young woman she was employed as a technician in an allergy clinic. Joan later joined the office staff at her family owned business, Skillman Oil. More recently Joan worked for Brillman’s Rental Barn and Linda’s Hallmark Cards, both in New Hope, before retiring in 1999. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, bowling and shopping.

Joan was the daughter of the late James and Mabel Stout Skillman. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lemuel J. Keen; her children and their spouses: James and Joanie Keen of Beaverton, Oregon, Nancy Keen and John Haag of New Hope and Kenneth and Denise Keen of Doylestown; and her grandchildren Elizabeth Keen of Beaverton, Kaitlynn, Courtney, Ryan and Kelly Keen of Doylestown.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com).

There will be visitation at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 am until the start of services.
