Obituary for George Franklin Fry Jr.

George F. Fry, Jr. 77, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, October 22, 2018, at his home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, George was a lifelong Lambertville resident. He was a skilled wood craftsman, working in the studios of Phil Powell and Paul Evans. George always enjoyed working with his hands. He liked to fix items and took pride in returning them to usefulness. He enjoyed collecting a wide variety of items, furniture, tools and appliances, evaluating them, repairing them and returning them to usefulness. George was an avid fisherman. Dedicated to his community, George was a Firefighter and officer with the Fleetwing Fire Company in Lambertville for close to 60 years. He was also a volunteer with the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad.

George was the son of the late George F. Fry, Sr. and Mary Heins Fry. He is survived by his sons George F. Fry III of Lambertville and David C. Fry and his wife Susan of Solebury, PA; his sister Joyce A. Fry of Lambertville and his niece Kelly C. Fry of Lambertville and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, at 12 noon at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com). Interment will follow at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.

There will be calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 am until the start of services.
