Obituary for Sean Steven Lelie Sr.

Sean Steven Lelie, Sr., of Lambertville, NJ, died on Sunday, November 11, 2018.
Born on December 26, 1966, Sean grew up in Lambertville and graduated from South Hunterdon Regional High School. Sean had a compassionate side that showed through his many interests, one of which was his love for animals. He cherished the times he spent with his dogs and cats and made sure they were well cared for and had everything they needed, most of all love. When he was ill, their well-being was his first concern and he made sure his family would care for them. He had a heart of gold and loved being outdoors enjoying all of nature’s gifts. He loved fishing and hunting and sharing those interests with family and friends. His smile and humor could light the room when he was present and will continue to do so through memories his family will cherish forever. He was mechanically inclined and could do just about anything. Sean cared for friends as well throughout his life, always putting others needs before his own. He was a gentle soul who had creativity and talent far beyond what any of us realized. The day his son was born was one of the happiest days of his life. His family is heartbroken, but will keep his memory alive bringing smiles to all even though his chair will be empty.
His is survived by his son, Sean Jr., Sally (former spouse), his mother Nancy Gilliland and stepfather Stanley Gilliland, his father Eugene C. Lelie, his brothers Eugene C. Lelie, Jr. and his wife Kendra, Ralph Lelie and his wife Marla, four nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations be sent to Tabby’s Place, 1100 US Highway 202, Ringoes, NJ 08551
A private family gathering will take place on his birthday celebrating his life and sharing the wonderful memories he gave us during his lifetime.
