Obituary

Marianne Speiser, 73, of New Hope, PA, died on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.

Born in New Jersey, Marianne was a resident of New Hope since 1964. Marianne spent her professional years as a marketing and public relations professional who generously shared her talents with the town she loved, New Hope. She previously served as the Director of the New Hope Tourism and Information Center where she dedicated herself to promoting New Hope and the surrounding area. Marianne was a key contributor to the success of many local events and charity fundraisers, including most recently serving as a founding artist of the New Hope Film Festival. In addition, Marianne was a talented musician and gifted songwriter. She sang and played piano and guitar. She could often be found where other local musicians gathered to make music, places like Chez Odette’s and John and Peter’s. Marianne was a beloved member of the New Hope community. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Marianne was devoted to her family, her neighbors and friends.

Marianne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy Speiser Jacobson and Alan Jacobson; her grandchildren Gabrielle and Nicholas; her sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Mark Drexler and her larger extended family who will all miss her very much.

Services will be private.

I am so very very sad!! Marianne was one of the best people I ever knew. Always positive, always up beat! We collaborated on many songs over the past 30 + years. She believed in me as a musician more than I believed in myself!! I watched her life evolve and always felt like she was at peace with herself. God blessed us with Marianne and I was lucky to be part of her life!!! May your soul be at peace beautiful! I will miss you!

It was an absolute pleasure taking care of Marianne, even if it was only for a short time. Sometimes patients touch my heart like no other ones, and your mother was one of those amazing spririts. She will never be forgotten.

My condolences to the Speiser families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Marianne. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
