Obituary for Pamela Anita Holland (Mullane)

Pamela A. Holland, 71, of Lambertville, NJ, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

Born in Corona, Queens, NY, Pam grew up in Skillman, NJ and had been a resident of Lambertville for 39 years. She retired as a supervisor with the Mercer County Board of Social Services in 2003 after 34 years of service. Pam was a graduate of Trenton State College. An active member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville, Pam has an additional spiritual home at First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville. Pam loved animals. She saw God’s presence in all his creatures and made a home for a wide assortment of animals, including horses, goats, cats, peafowl, chickens, ducks, birds, rabbits, fish and a parrot named Ollie. Her gentle and kind heart made her the ideal candidate for local rescue groups to call on, when an orphaned creature needed special care, medical treatment or shelter. She knew that fencing was key to protecting her animals and she became expert at driving a fence post. Pam’s special charity was the Fund for Animals. As a young girl she donated the first $5 she ever earned to that organization. She had been a vegetarian since childhood. She loved sewing, baking and cooking and was always the first to volunteer at a church or community event. She had a smile for all.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anita Noberini Mullane. Pam is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years Robert W. Holland, her brother and his wife Thomas A. and Jean Lovett Mullane of Hillsborough, NJ; her nephew Thomas J. Mullane, his wife Amanda and their son Thomas Orion of Bloomfield, NJ; her niece Amy Wimmer, her husband Eric and their children Ada, Evelyn and Dylan of Rolesville, NC and her many cousins, including: Carol Lowe of Princeton, NJ, Frederick Massano of Frenchtown, NJ and Dolores Nieves of Old Bridge, NJ.

The memorial mass will be offered on Friday, January 18, at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge St., Lambertville, NJ 08530.

Calling hours on Friday morning from 9 am with a prayer service at 9:30 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ 08530.

Donations in Pam’s memory may be made to the Fund for Animals, 1255 23rd St NW, Suite 460, Washington, DC 20037.
