Obituary for Thom Robert Watson

Thom Watson, who died peacefully at home on February 11, 2019, was born on May 8, 1946 and raised in Lakewood, Ohio. After high school graduation he attended AdrianCollege in Michigan and then flew East to New York City to begin what would be a 44 year career in the travel and pharmaceuticals industries. It began with two years at Eastern Airlines. He was then hired at a premier corporate travel agency becoming a managerin 5 years. He moved on to another large agency (purchased by Carlson Travel) and his last position as manager of the United Nations Travel Department. In 1988, Thom was personally recruited by the chairman of Squibb to relocate to New Jersey and set up anin-house travel department. For the next 22 years, Thom ran the Corporate Travel Department and later was a manager of the Meeting Management Group at Bristol Meyers Squibb before retiring in 2010. During those hectic travel year Thom also got the greatbenefit of traveling himself: literally around the world and back. Thom has always adored Broadway (mostly musicals) and was able to see well over 350 of them in his NY/NJ days. He was also elected President of his Homeowners’ Association and just retired this past January after serving six years in that position. In addition to all this, Thom was a faithful member of his church, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Lambertville where he has sung with their highly praised choir for decades. He served on the church Vestry for many years and also served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for over 20 years.

Thom is survived by his loving husband of 19 years, Robert Brown, his brother Mayo, and his niece Meredith.

A celebration of Thom's life will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 50 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Andrew's Church memorial garden where Thom's ashes will be placed
