Obituary for Daniel N. DiSalvi

Daniel N. DiSalvi, 71, of New Hope, PA, died on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home.

Born in Doylestown, PA, Dan grew up in Lambertville, NJ and was a lifelong resident of the Lambertville-New Hope area. A skilled craftsman, Dan was a self-employed contractor for the past 40 years. He was a longtime friend and business associate with John Wicks and they often worked on projects together. He was a graduate of South Hunterdon High School where he excelled at athletics. Dan was a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving with the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Air Medal along with other awards and honors in recognition of his service to his country. Dan enjoyed fishing, softball and was an avid reader.

Dan was devoted to his family and was a dedicated friend. He always had time for those he cherished, was a source of sound advice and was the first to lend a hand on whatever the project.
He was often called “Pops” by the many young people who grew up in and with his family.

Dan was the son of the late Raymond and Anne Butkewicz DiSalvi. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Nalence DiSalvi; their children and their spouses Adam Fitting and his wife Melissa of Chester, NJ; Brian Fitting and his wife Carrie of West Amwell; Michael DiSalvi of West Amwell; Caralyn DiSalvi and her partner Peter Anderson of Flemington and Joanne DiSalvi of Seattle, WA; his sister Carol DiSalvi of Lambertville; his former wife and his son Michael’s mother Nancy DiSalvi of West Amwell; his brother Joseph DiSalvi of Lumberville, PA and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The memorial mass will be offered on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 9:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. friends are invited to join by livestream at https://vimeo.com/476837928/7193ed8868

Committal services with military honors will follow at 11:30 am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
