Obituary for Grace Ellen Bickell (Cook)

Grace E. Bickell, 87, of Lambertville, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ.

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Grace had lived in Hamilton, NJ and later in Lady Lake, FL before returning to New Jersey 35 years ago and joining her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Neale Myers in their Lambertville home. As a young woman Grace was a secretary at Chase Aircraft in Trenton. While in Florida she worked as a security guard at a gated residential community. In Lambertville she cared for young children in her home. Grace was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lambertville. She was a regular at the Community Kitchen, loved reading and watching Turner Classic Movies. Grace was an avid walker and enjoyed browsing the many shops in Lambertville and New Hope.

Grace was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Martin Cook and the sister of the late Myron Cook and Helen Prince, Grace’s twin. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Linda S. and Neale Myers, Jr. of Lambertville and Jeanellen and Dan Heeney of Roebling; her son Robert Bickell of Spotswood; her grandchildren and their spouses Neale Myers III and Shanice, Brian Myers and Jennifer, Andrew Myers and Amy, Catherine Myers, Sean Heeney and Stephanie, Claudia Ordonez, Melissa Heeney, Justin Heeney and Victoria, Bobbie Jo Di Pierro and Ed, Lisa Bickell, and Hannah Morse; 27 great-grandchildren and her dear friend of many years Phyllis Gill.

Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville, NJ (vhnfh.com).
