Obituary for Carmella G. Godown
Carmella G. Godown, 85, of West Amwell, NJ, died on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Born in North Brunswick, Carmella was a teenager when her family moved to Lambertville. She worked as an assistant floor lady at Lambertville Ceramics for 18 years. After that, Carmella was the office manager for her husband's business, A. L. Colligan Plumbing and Heating in Lambertville. She continued to manage the office when their son took over the business. Carmella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her flower gardens and took pride in tending her koi pond. Over the years, she had several pets but, Jake was her beloved French bulldog. Carmella regularly attended auctions and flea markets. She was delighted when she found unique treasures. But most of all, she enjoyed just spending time with her family.
Carmella was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Linico Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Sr; her son and daughter-in-law Charles Jr. and Trudy; her grandchildren Nicholas, Jenna and Jack; her sisters Mary Opdyke and Delores Lindblad; her brother and sister-in-law William and Peggy Robinson; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Arthur and Pat Godown all of Lambertville; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com).
