Obituary for Mary Jane Howell
Mary Jane Howell of Lambertville, NJ, died on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was 92.
Born and raised in New Hope, Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of the Lambertville-New Hope area. A graduate of New Hope High School, Mary Jane worked as a sales clerk at the Bear Apothecary in Lambertville for 50 years. She was a member of the Old Rocks Church in West Amwell, the Junior Women’s Club of New Hope and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Doylestown Moose Lodge. Mary Jane enjoyed cooking, swimming and gardening. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved doting on her grandchildren.
Mary Jane was the wife of the late John “Jack” A. Howell, Jr.; the daughter of the late Edward L. and Gertrude Campion Williamson and the sister of the late Gertrude “Trudy” Gleason, Edith Wells, Kenneth Williamson and Willard Williamson. She is survived by her son John A. Howell, III and his wife Kathleen of New Hope; her grandchildren Sara and John Michael Howell of New Hope and her nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 12 noon at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lambertville.
There will be calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11 am until the start of services.
