Larry R. Hoppock, 71, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Somerville, NJ, Larry lived in Great Meadow, NJ, before coming to Lambertville in 1979. He was a truck driver for OHM ion Lawrenceville, Rich Hill in Flemington and John Huff Excavating in Hopewell. More recently he worked as a custodian for the New Hope-Solebury School District before retiring 11 years ago. A US Navy veteran, Larry served during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the Long Valley VFW. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Schooley’s Mountain emergency services.
He was the son of the late William and Pearl Perrine Hoppock and the grandfather of the late Joseph Bengivenga. Larry is survived by his wife Linda L. Hoppock; his children William G. Stadtmueller of Stockton, Bruce T. Stadtmueller of Kingwood and Kelly (Joseph) Bengivenga of Washington, NJ; his grandchildren Matthew Ward, Joshua Bengivenga and Kaitlyn (Benjamin) Chadwick; his sisters Burdeene (Richard) Menagh of Belvedere and Sharon Judge of Hackettstown; a niece and 2 nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. At the time of his passing, Larry was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com) on Thursday, May 26, at 10 am.
Interment with US Navy military honors will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday morning from 9 am until the start of services.
